Thank you to all those children who played their instruments and sang at our St John the Baptist harvest festival on Sunday. One member of the congregation commented
'They were all very well behaved, beautifully neat and tidy in their school uniform, very confident and self-assured and polite. They were a credit to the school and made a great contribution to the service'
The school celebrated our Harvest Festival at St John the Baptist on Tuesday 19th September. Each class looked at bible passages where food is mentioned : John ch 6 which describes Jesus feeding the 5000 from 2 loaves and 5 fishes ; Genesis ch 2 where Adam and Eve are in the Garden of Eden eating the forbidden fruit ; John ch 2 where Jesus turned water into wine ; John ch 6 "Jesus said unto them - I am the bread of life he had cometh to me shall never hunger and he who believe the me shall never thirst "
The children presented their gifts of food at the altar and the food was later given to Foodshare - a local charity in Maidenhead that runs a foodbank. 20 bags were given - indeed a harvest! One of the helpers at the Centre called it a 'blessing'.
