Dear Parents,
I am delighted to be able to offer singing lessons to pupils from Years 3-6 at Cookham Dean Primary
School.
The school already boasts a fantastic choir, headed up by Mrs Reekie, and these individual and small
group lessons will give children who really love singing a great opportunity to further develop their
singing skills through a range of music including musical theatre, folk and classical songs.
Singing should be fun! And I have always believed that singing can be a great way to boost self-esteem
in children, which has a positive impact on all their areas of learning.
Lessons can prepare your child towards ABRSM exams - when the time is right – or alternatively, your
child can choose to take a more relaxed approach and develop his/her singing for pleasure, along with
general musicianship skills and confidence.
I have studied singing at the Royal Academy of Music and Birmingham University. I have been a
member of the National Youth Choir and Chamber Choir of Great Britain, as well as several adult
chamber choirs. Now, as a mum of three, I try to do as much singing as I can fit in, with ensembles and
as a soloist, as well as teaching a range of ages.
It is wonderful to be able to use my experience to teach children and pass on my love of singing!
Lessons will be 30 minutes and can be arranged as 1:1 sessions or for small groups of 2-3 children if
appropriate (where possible, I can arrange group of similar ability/age). They will take place in the
library on Wednesday afternoons, from 1.15-4.15pm.
Lessons will be invoiced on a termly basis and fees (per 30 min lesson) are as follows:
1:1 lessons - £18 per child / 1:2 - £10 per child / 1:3 - £7 per child
