Cookham Dean CE Primary School

Where we all flourish

You make known to me the path of life.
Psalm 16 verse 11

Welcome

Welcome to Cookham Dean CE Primary School.

Cookham Dean is a single form entry for primary school children aged 4 - 11 years of age in a beautiful village just outside Maidenhead in Berkshire. At Cookham Dean we are very proud of our school, our pupils, our staff and all that we achieve here. Staff, governors, parents and pupils work closely together to provide a stimulating and safe environment underpinned by our Christian values of friendship, community, peace, joy, endurance, forgiveness and trust. We work hard for children to develop their full potential; spiritually, morally, physically, emotionally, socially and intellectually.  Everyone at our school is totally committed to the safeguarding of our children.

The vision of our school is that ' we all flourish' - children, staff, parents and governors ; this is at the heart of everything we do at Cookham Dean. We achieve this by ensuring high quality staff that have an excellent understanding of pedagogy ; an excellent understanding of how children learn ; high quality professional development programme ; close communication with parents to ensure every child is supported ; supportive staff and governor team ; an enriched curriculum enhanced by excellent resources including an extensive extra-curricular programme.

Cookham Dean Primary School prides itself at being at the heart of the community.  We have a close relationship with St John the Baptist church and the clergy team.  We celebrate services at the Church during important religious festivals as well as throughout the year. The children chose the bible verse 'You make known to me the path of life' (from Psalm 16 vs 11) as they felt that this helped them to remember that God has a plan for them but also to remind them of their journey through our school

We are actively involved in community events including the village fete, Gravity Grand Prix, Cookham Arts Festival as well as being involved in caring for our local neighbours and environment.

The school is well supported by an active PTA who fund raise for the school; in the past these funds have been used to support the computer curriculum at Cookham Dean , provide outdoor learning provision, provide musical instruments, as well as many other valuable enrichment experiences.
